Cute Clothes for Teens
From LoveToKnow Teens
Cute clothes for teens are available everywhere- you just have to know where to look! There are a lot of clothes out there, but not all of them are cute. What exactly are cute clothes? Well, think about cute clothes for teens as clothes that can only be worn on teens. Keep in mind that a teen, by definition, is from around thirteen to eighteen (preteens are a bit earlier).
Basically, your mission is to find clothes that your particular age group can wear that no other age group can.
Where Are Cute Clothes For Teens: Trends
When it comes to finding clothes for you, think about the latest fashion trends. Just about any age group can wear trends, but it’s with the teen set that you can wear them at their authentic best.
For example, let’s take the nautical look. Whereas a thirty-year old woman has to be content with a striped nautical boatneck top, a teen, much like Avril Lavigne, can get away with nautical inspired knee-highs. Can you picture those same knee-highs on a thirty-two year old? Exactly. Not cute!
The Rules
One of the best things you can do as a teenager is learn about the trends. You can find the current fashion trends by scouring the latest teen magazines, or just by observing what your peers are wearing. Here are some basic rules of trend-wearing.
| Rule | Description |
| Don’t follow the rules to the letter. | This may seem like a direct contradiction of the rule but bear with us. What this rule basically means is that you don’t want to wear all the trends at the same time. If, for example, newsboy caps are popular, pair it with a soft brown leather jacket and jeans, but stay away from any of the other current trends. |
| Shun the matchy-matchy look. | There is nothing worse than seeing someone in clothing that exactly matches every other item they happen to be wearing. Break outfits up by, say, matching a top to a bag. Also, tread lightly when it comes to the monochromatic look. It’s true that sometimes it looks fabulous, but it’s better to do this on a case-by-case basis. |
| Feel free to experiment. | The teen years are the best time to buck conventional fashion rules and experiment with your fashion look. Feel free to wear a flower in your hair, or loop a scarf through your belt. Who knows? The next popular fashion trend might very well be your own! |
Accessories Are A Must
One of the easiest and cheapest ways to look incredibly cute, day after day, is to invest in eye-catching accessories. Doing so dresses up any outfit you happen to be wearing, and it takes the pressure of having to show up in something new and cute everyday of the week. Be the cutest around by investing in some of these key pieces:
- Belts
Whether wide or skinny, a bold belt is one of the best ways to appear fresh and oh-so-adorable. Do rocker chic by showing up in a hardware- inspired belt, or consider a belt in a pastel shade, like soft pink or baby blue. The possibilities are endless.
- Shoes
Another great accessory that adds serious wattage to your cute clothes are shoes. Feel free to experiment with lacy strap-ups, bows done on the side, or platforms sandals make of cork. You can wear rider-inspired boots in the winter and pretty ballet flats in the fall. Feel free to experiment with color here as well.
- Jewelry
Don’t forget about the bling. And don’t panic; there’s no need to spend a ton of money on jewelry to look current. Simply invest in some key pieces, like chunky bracelets, bold pendants, and, of course, the always-fashionable gold hoop earrings.
Keep in mind too that these key pieces of jewelry you’re buying are not meant to be real. After all, you are “meant” to change them as frequently as your fashion mind dictates!

Hi Bibby,
Crunches (sit-ups) and other tummy exercises can help you tone up that area. Search online for exercises for the stomach. Good luck!

-- Contributed by: Bibby7th grade is really a year about having fun and making friends for the future. I can see why you are worried and I have some answers for you. Staying at a healthy weight is always a good thing to do. If you are trying to become really skinny to fit in with the other girls that's not really the best thing to do. Everyone's bodies are different and sometimes you can't become like someone else. You need to learn to except yourself. You mentioned you were tall now which will help you in the future. I'm also tall for the girls in my school. I'm almost 5'8". I'm not the absolutely skinniest girl in school but you don't have to be! People love you for who you are and the personality you have. I'm in highschool now and although it's true I made a lot of my friends in 7th grade, they are still my friends! Not because I looked like every other girl but because I was different! So don't stress about being the skinniest go about being healthy. If those girls don't except you for who you and they are not worth having as friends. They are only concerned about the looks that their friends have and not about the person themselves. I hope that helps you.
