Beware some fads that are too mature for very young girls. When celebrities bare their bellies in crop tops, many girls will flock to do the same, but just because a super-short shirt or skirt is available in a junior size doesn't mean a parent has to cave in and buy it.

With so many options in teen clothing, any girl should be able to find a look that fits her perfectly, whether she's preppy or punk, or somewhere in between. Because these fashions are usually quite affordable, parents can often satisfy a young shopper's style cravings each season. Once a girl moves out of girl sizes into the Juniors department, she can begin to develop a style of her own.
