High School Pranks
From LoveToKnow Teens
High school pranks are the trademark of senior classes since as far back as anyone can remember. Schools do not officially sanction pranks, but expect that seniors will attempt at least one before graduation or even at graduation.
High School Pranks Gone Too Far
It's important not to take high school pranks too far. While it might be funny to put dry ice in the toilets, it isn't funny to take the principal's car and move it to an undisclosed location. The last thing you want is to take a prank too far and wind up being charged with criminal mischief or something that might go on your permanent record. If you are in doubt about whether a prank is going to be acceptable, you may want to run it past your guidance counselor or principal first.
Some Ideas for Pranks
Here are some ideas for harmless pranks. Even though these pranks are harmless, your school may be stricter than others. It is always best to err on the side of caution. If you are uncertain, you should ask someone in charge and make sure your diploma won't be held or other disciplinary action will be taken. In addition, pranks should never harm a person or animal. Pranksters need to be aware that punishment is possible for pranks as well as having to pay for any accidental damage that may occur to the school.
- Bubble bath – If your school has a fountain, some inexpensive bubble bath can create a sudsy prank that will be remembered for quite a few years. The prank is fairly harmless and while a mess to clean up, shouldn't hurt the fountain. Be prepared to be the one that cleans up the mess once the faculty discovers who pulled the prank.
- Moving items – Moving all the school desks to a courtyard or in front of the school can be quite humorous. Make sure the weather will cooperate and not ruin the desks.
- Senior serenade – A single cricket can drive you to madness with its chirping. Imagine hundreds and hundreds of crickets turned loose in a school.
- Have a ball at graduation – Blow up a beach ball and start bouncing it back and forth at graduation. Chances are that at some point one of the teachers or principal will take the ball away, so have a backup or two ready to go. Be careful with this one. You don't want to aggravate the school officials so much that they hold diplomas.
- Parking mayhem – Seniors can either switch parking spaces with underclassmen or take up two or three spaces, leaving the others with nowhere to park. You'll likely wind up having to go out and move your cars once faculty discovers the blunder, but the prank can be quite humorous in the meantime.
- Rubber ducky – You can float rubber ducks in all the toilets and sinks in the school.
- Forking – Place hundreds of plastic forks in the yard in front of the school so it looks like you are growing a fork field.
There are always the tried and true pranks, such as whoopee cushions. Just remember as you come up with the perfect prank for your senior class to be sure you don't do anything that might get you into legal trouble or cause your expulsion from school. A good prank is something everyone can laugh about, including your teachers and school leaders.
