Junior Clothing

From LoveToKnow Teens

The Junior clothing department is a dynamic environment. Junior buyers jet off to market monthly, just to keep abreast of the constantly changing trends. Gathering up looks from the fashion runways of Europe to the common street hip of New York and LA, there is a constant flow of merchandise from around the world to your closet.

Junior Clothing

While the behind-the-scenes fashion life sounds enticing, the Junior customer is obliviously denying fashion rules. Ignoring common season sense with flip flops in the snow, tanks at Christmas, and jeans on the beach, the Junior clothing customer is unique fashion entity. With a typically teen fashion philosophy, it is how you look more than how you feel.

What is Junior Clothing?

If you are a female, between a child and a misses, then you are a potential Junior clothing customer. Designed for both the look and the fit of a teen and preteen body, Junior clothing is fashion for girls and younger women. Commonly found on girls aged 9 to 30, Junior clothes are geared toward the top of the youth fashion market with roots in the designer runway knockoffs.

While the Junior clothing marketplace provides some designer brands, most are considered disposable clothes. Essentially, they are inexpensive garments which last about as long as the trends. Usually simple in design and fabric selection, they model many of the more expensive designer sportswear collections in look, but not price. Junior clothing offers the teen, preteen, and fashionable woman customer the opportunity to look trendy without breaking the bank.

From a business standpoint, the Junior clothing department provides a quick turnover with a decent margin. As a hot market, you will find Junior clothes in almost every type of apparel storefront, from the local department store to the online specialty house. With such a widely available and fast turning marketplace, if you find something you love in Junior clothes, buy it today or it may be gone tomorrow.

Categories

Junior clothing is comprised of eight main categories. Most teen clothing stores will offer up some, if not all, of these categories, seasonally and year-round. The quantity and variety within each category greatly depends on the current trends and fashions at that time.

Sweaters and Knits

One of the larger categories for year-round fashion is sweaters and knits. With styles ranging from long-sleeved to short-sleeved including sleeveless shirts and tanks, this category offers far more than just the standard t-shirt. Some of the hottest trends for winter 2006 are embellished necklines and flashy prints.

Activewear

Not just workout clothes, activewear are everyday wear for many teens. With fleece and casual tees the mainstay of this category, it is a style for lounging around comfort.

Woven Tops

Junior woven top market ebbs with flow of teen fashion. A few years back it was almost non-existent as most teen girls chose to go for the more clingy knit tees. Now the category is hot again with whimsical flutter and lace subtly covering the shoulders of many hip teen girls.

Outerwear

While often overlooked, outwear is a necessity in colder regions. Faux fur will liven up even the blah winter days and is even found in cropped vests for those warmer regions.

Pants and Jeans

Teen jeans have long been the main component of the Junior wardrobe. Although they may change in shape and length, they remain a constant. With the current trend of low-rise flairs maintaining popularity, there is a new emergence of skinny pants on the horizon.

Skirts

Mini skirts will continue to test the wills of all conservative parents. Look out, they are only getting shorter!

Dresses

One of the largest categories in Junior clothing is teen dresses. Whether it is formals for Prom or a casual night on the town, Junior dresses are a main component of any teen wardrobe.

Accessories

Whether designed for teens or adults, accessories liven up any outfit. Scarves and belts are wide and prominent for this winter. Add a funky hat, handbag, and some dangles to complete any outfit.

That's not true. People can wear skinny jeans ANYTIME they WANT.

You can`t be talkin about fat people you ain`t fat so don`t worry about it and let them live their life being as big as they want and you enjoy your life being skinny. We all are different in some kind of way. If I were you I wouldn`t worry about someone wearing xl or xxl clothes.

I think that most people can wear skinny jeans, it just depends on the color and style of the skinnys. Some are tighter than others. A darker wash and more of a thicker material will look better on bigger girls. Most people can pull the look off; you just have to get the right ones.
