Dating Your Teacher
Reader Question
I think I'm in love with one of my teachers at school. What should I do?

Advice from Melissa
Hi Montana:
Nothing. It's illegal to have a relationship with a teacher when you are a student. Besides, you’re probably not in love, but in “infatuation” or a “crush.” These feelings are quite common though, and most likely, will fade with the next semester. Let it go, and focus on someone your own age.

Advice from Katie
Hi Montana:
Nothing. Don’t do anything.
You can crush from afar but I advise you not to make a move. If he goes for you then he’s (a creep) breaking the law and doing all manner of bad illegal pedophile things. Plus, if he rejects you (which-despite how cute you are-- ethically, he should) then things are going to be AWKWARD and embarrassing.
“But forbidden love is sexy!” you say, “We’ll be the Romeo and Juliet of 4th period chemistry!”
No, you won’t. You will be Mary Kay Letourneau (actually, he’ll be Mary Kay. You’ll be Villi Fulauu).
“But they got married!”
Yes, Montana, but they are icky and weird.
