Teen Guys' Clothing
From LoveToKnow Teens
Finding great deals and attractive teen guys’ clothing is easy if you know what you’re doing and where to shop. Read on for tips that help you do both.
Teen Guys’ Clothing Made Easy
Do you want to look cool, and feel comfortable, all with a minimum amount of effort? Here are some key factors to consider, before you go shopping, to help you get the look you want.
- Comfort
Everyone wants to be comfortable in their clothes, and if you find yourself constantly tugging and pulling at your clothing, then this is a serious factor for you to consider. The first step? Shop for clothes made of a "breathable" material, like cotton.
Another tip? Look for tee-shirts and other items that have the label ironed right into the fabric. This helps tremendously with that annoying scratching of the neck. The second step is to stay clear of any fabrics you already know you’re allergic to, such as lamb’s wool. Go even further by getting the word out to family members, and you won’t have to sit there trying not to squirm at the next family holiday!
- Durability
Durability is key to everyone, but especially important to teen boys who loathe to shop. This also holds true if you are very active in your everyday life. From stickball in the street to one-on-one games on the court, your clothes need to go the distance.
- Personal Sense of Style
No matter the factors considered, high on that list is your own personal sense of style. Take time to figure out the things you like and incorporate those items into your everyday fashion wardrobe.
Where to Shop
Let’s take a look at some great places to shop, as well as some terrific label makers.
The Gap
The Gap is a great place to shop because they offer a ton of clothing items, all of which are offered at affordable prices.
- Jeans
The selection in their jean category is numerous. You have the option of choosing between a straight leg fit and a relaxed fit. You can also play with colors like tan, white, light indigo, sandblasted grey, etc. Expect to pay about $34.00US for a pair.
Other types of jeans fit in this category are
- Straight
- Loose
- Easy
- Boot Fit
- Carpenter
- Baggy
- Relaxed
- Fashion Jeans
- Pants
Although jeans can pretty much take you anywhere, it does pay to invest in a good pair of khakis. At The Gap, you have the option of choosing between casual khakis and dress pants.
- Shorts
In the summertime, shorts are a must-have item. Liven yours up with some distinct summery prints that are almost Hawaiian in nature. If not, consider a pair of “City-Shorts”, a basic cargo short-pant, or go plaid.
Other categories available to you at the Gap include:
- Polos
- T-Shirts
- Long and Short Sleeve Shirts
- Sweaters
- Blazers
- Outerwear
…and much, much more.
Old Navy
Swimwear
Besides the usual clothing items of tops and bottoms, you can also find a large section of swimwear. The swim shorts available come in a multitude of colors and styles. Everything from your basic fire-engine red swim trunks to swim shorts with sunsets in vivid colors, they have it all! What is the best thing about this line of swimwear? The price! At only about $17.50US, you’ll have no trouble purchasing more than one pair.
- Graphic Tees
Along with swimwear, Old Navy offers some terrific Graphic Tees. They offer football style jerseys, baseball inspired shirts, and even shirts with musical notes printed on them. If you still crave more options, they also have tees with popular city names on them, like New York City or San Francisco’s Bay Area. Expected cost is around $14.50US.

-- Contributed by: Devonthis is not true at all I'm sorry, this might have been true a few years ago, but now as a teen guy, I would not prefer the gap or old navy. Fashions have changed. The last time I wore gap was over 5 years ago. Anyways, if you're looking for what we wear, choose stores like pac sun (best jeans) and then shirts with random designs at other places, that would be considered cool.
-- Contributed by: teen guyUgh! Gap jeans fit awful on most guys that I know (and me as well). Get jeans from outlet designers (J. Crew, Calvin Klein), they fit better, look better, and are normally cheaper. J. Crew is also a good place to get semi-formal wear, perfect for a date.
