Tween girl models are growing in numbers each year, but what is a tween? A tween is a girl or boy who is between the ages of nine and twelve; they are growing out of the childhood phase and growing closer to the teenage phase of life. At this age, children begin to discover who they are as an individual, and they often find hobbies that they enjoy doing. Modeling makes a good hobby for tween girls because it is fun, allows them to make new friends, and promotes a positive attitude and patience. While it's not for everyone, tween girl models are growing very popular each year. Modeling is an attractive hobby for young girls who like the thought of being the center of attention, and getting their hair and makeup done often.

How Do You Become a Tween Girl Model?

If a teen girl or her parents decided that giving modeling is a good idea? Getting into the modeling business isn't always easy, but it can be very rewarding. If a young girl is passionate about becoming a tween girl model, then she will likely do well with her modeling. When first starting a modeling career, one of the beginning and most important steps is to take a few modeling classes, your local youth center or your school may offer modeling classes after school and on weekends. Modeling classes are a great, relatively inexpensive, way to see if you or your daughter will enjoy modeling, and if you will want to pursue it further. The next step after taking classes is to get a portfolio and an agent to help you book jobs where you can model. An agent is necessary for becoming successful in modeling, as they know where all the jobs and casting calls can be found. Here are some of the steps to becoming a tween girl model in a list form:

Join a modeling class to decide if you enjoy modeling or not.
Get a portfolio made, a professional photographer found at a mall or plaza can take pictures for your first portfolio.
Get an agent to help you find jobs to work.
Remember to have fun! You won't be successful at becoming a model if you don't enjoy it.

Cautions for Parents

If your daughter has decided that she wants to be a tween model, then there are some things that you, as a responsible parent, will want to watch out for:

Scams from modeling agencies. Some agencies will take your child's portfolio and your money, saying they will book shows for your daughter. If they do not call you for shows within a month or two, then contact them as it may be an agencies scam. Having a good agent can prevent this from happening. Always think carefully before handing over large sums of money.

Eating disorders. Eating disorders can become a problem if your tween thinks she needs to gain or lose weight. Signs of an eating disorder are; rapid weight loss or gain, not eating, excessive exercising, and unhealthy obsession with looks. This type of disorder can be very dangerous, even fatal, so be sure to talk to your tween about it to prevent it from happening.

Tween girl models can learn a lot from modeling, including patience, responsibility, and self-confidence.
