Hi Michele,
If pictures from last year showed ties and shirts, that may be what is expected for this type of dance. You may want to call the school or a mother to one of your son's friends to see what he is wearing. That way, your son won't be dressed completely different from everyone else.
-- Contributed by: Marcelina HardyWhat do I get for my 13 year old son to wear to his moving up dance? What is stylish? I saw pictures and the boys last year wore shirts and ties so it is somewhat dressy.
-- Contributed by: MicheleTry a pair of cute jeans under colorful skirt. Add a bright top, sneakers or flats and top it off with warm gold tone earrings and jewelery.
-- Contributed by: onyiiDon't go with the skirt over jeans thing, not right. We make fun of girls who wear those. Just wear one or the other.
-- Contributed by: tessaI don't know if it's just me, but I love the skirt over pants thing! It has to be a mini skirt over black skinny jeans, or else it doesn't work.
-- Contributed by: SheridanSara, I am in eighth grade also. I would not recomend the look because I know that the girls in my grade make fun of the girls that do that.
-- Contributed by: JennaSara, Should you have a t-shirt under a halter top? Personally I would say no. I love the layered look, but not with halter tops. If you feel like halter tops are revealing then don't wear them. It's so not worth it.
-- Contributed by: flyinghigherHi MiMi,
Been there! Until you know what the entire dress code will be (sometimes it affects even the socks you wear), it may be difficult to do much of anything with the uniform. But, you can get a cool hair cut or do funky nails as long as there isn't anything in the dress code about that too. I'm guessing the school is moving to uniforms to get rid of the distractions that some people's wardrobe cause. Don't worry though, after school you can still wear whatever you want!
-- Contributed by: Charlotte GerberMy school's getting uniforms next year, my 8th grade year! I don't want to wear them but my parents are making me, and I KNOW they will be ugly. Other than messing with my hair, what are some ways to spice up this terrible problem that I'm having? HELP!
-- Contributed by: MiMiI agree with Katie when she daid " you have to decide what works best for you" because everyone's body type is different so somethings might not look right on you. Although you should always try to have your own style. Being colorful is very hot this season but it's only cute if the colors are different but go well together like pink, green, and yellow or blue, green, pink, and yellow. Colors like that. I hoped I've helped someone today and remember always add your personal style.
-- Contributed by: nicoletteHi Anonymous,
Leggings are pretty hot this season, so they are a definite possibility for a dance. Pair the leggings with a long sleeved tunic (or short sleeved one if you live in a warm climate) and add ballet flats for a trendy look. You could also wear a tunic length hoodie or graphic tee- basically, wear longer shirts when you are wearing leggings. If you need some ideas for your wardrobe selection, check out Forever21 or Delia's- they have a great selection of clothing for you.
-- Contributed by: Charlotte GerberI'm going to a dance this weekend, and I don't know what to wear? A lot of people are wearing leggings but what do you think? Thanks
