Miki,
People will say things to get you upset no matter how you dress. If you are comfortable with who you are including what you wear then that is all that matters.

-- Contributed by: mikiHi Annette, If you deny who you are, and try to be someone you're aren't, life is going to get pretty boring. You have two options - do what you're friends want you to do (do you really want to be manipulated that way?) or find friends who appreciate who you are. Personally, I vote for the latter. Hang in there! School doesn't last forever.

People keep saying emo when they walk past me and some of my kinda friends say if I don't change to NORMAL they're not gonna hang out with me anymore! I don't want to change because emo is so me- the clothes, hair, music its all my life, but I'm already like the worlds most unpopular person. What do I do!?
-- Contributed by: annetteHi Kayleigh, You can change some things, but at your age your parents pretty much have control over your clothes and hair. Maybe you can do some of the things, but not extreme versions of them. Maybe use hair color that washes out and wear your emo clothes after school or on weekends. I know you want to be cool, but you need to keep the peace with your parents too. Talk with them and perhaps you can come to some sort of a compromise.
-- Contributed by: Charlotte GerberI'm only 11, but I know that I am an emo. The music, clothes, hair- all I want to do is change. I'm not doing it for attention like people say. How can I change without getting questions from friends and family?
