Hi Tichina, LoveToKnow isn't currently hiring, but even if it were, you'd have to be 18 to legally work for us. However, you could try to find teen jobs locally or start your own biz, such as walking dogs and babysitting. You could even try writing an article or taking photos for your local paper- just contact their editor and see if they have a need!

-- Contributed by: Marlen MartinezHi Teen13,
So sorry your family is in such a difficult situation right now. It's great that you are trying to help your parents, but know that it's ultimately not your responsibility and your parents will figure something out. If it would make you feel better to contribute, you can check out the category you found this article on Teen Jobs for more information on jobs you can get. Good luck!
-- Contributed by: Marcelina HardyI am a 13 year boy looking for a job that pays good. I already have a newspaper route, but it doesn't pay enough. My mom just got fired from her job and my dad works on minimum wage. We have to pay rent each month and usually end up having it come out a few hundred dollars extra for it being late, so I would like to know if there are any jobs, online or offline, near pickerington ohio that would hire me. i dont care if they are odd jobs or whatever. I just want to help my family keep from being evicted.

Have you looked into babysitting, doing errands for neighbors or other things you can do for them? You can create flyers and post them around your neighborhood or supermarket. Since the summer is coming up, you might be able to do some yard work for some people. Here are some articles with some additional ideas:
-- Contributed by: Marcelina HardyI am a teenager and I am 13, about to be 14 in June. I can't wait that long, even though it sounds hard to believe i can't wait one month. But i can't. I need money to help out my mom, and two brothers. My mom can't pay a lot of the bills on time, and just last month our hot water and stuff was taken off. I really need money, and fast, i am able to work after school to whenever, and on weekends, all day. I'm very flexible, i just need a job, idk what else to do...
-- Contributed by: Zaina MillsAmanda, Do none of the suggestions in this article appeal to you? You could try gathering up some of your old stuff and having a yard sale...You could also ask neighbors if they have any work for you to do... Good luck to you!
-- Contributed by: Marcelina HardyIm a teenager and I really need a job to help out my mom but i live in a small town and there arnt many jobs. and none for teens 15. i really need recomendations for some jobs i might be able to do.
-- Contributed by: Amanda DaughertyJeff,
I am sorry you are having a difficult time motivating your son to work. Is it possible to put limits on the amount of computer time he has? Maybe he can earn computer time by doing chores around the house. Does he get an allowance? It might help to show him what making money feels like to get him going. Good luck to you!
-- Contributed by: Marcelina HardyJobs are great for teens, it gets them extra money without having to depend on Birthdays or Christmas. My friends daughter makes 50$ for reffing hockey. Get involved with yardwork, dishes, babysitting, reffing, etc. Kids are always asking parents for money, so wouldn't it be more pleasurable to earn the money from a job? My daughter sure does!
-- Contributed by: Kaitlyn MergerMy son hates working. He actually is one of the laziest people I know. I try to get him to atleast help wash dishes but he is stuck to the computer. He has a little brother who is 10 and he even wants to help out with the house. Is there a way to get my son to work, he's already 13 and I don't want this to affect him when he's older because he is lazy. HELP!
-- Contributed by: Jeff SwedieHi Jennifer, I'm not sure what you're referring to. Most teens get babysitting jobs from people they know in their neighborhood, through connections at school or people their parents know from work.
-- Contributed by: Charlotte GerberHow will it be easier for a 13 year old to get a babysitting job from an online source. All othe sites like care.com say that you have to be at least 17 years old.
-- Contributed by: Jennifer JacksonHi Christopher, It depends on whether you are charging for a service (your own business), whether you're working for a business and where you live. These are all factors in determining wages.
-- Contributed by: Charlotte GerberHow much would I get paid for a day, week, and month.
-- Contributed by: Christopher LeonardoHi Viri, Why not try to get a job doing house cleaning on the weekends? There are many people who need this service, especially busy moms. Try putting up some flyers around the neighborhood and public bulletin boards advertising your services.

You could use the same advice I gave to Leannette. Basically you need a way to connect with families that have young kids. Depending on where you live, you can find them at community centers, parks, your neighborhood, elementary schools... Get some experience with families you already know and ask for referrals.
Good luck!
-- Contributed by: Debbie Vasenhelp finding babysitting jobs. please
-- Contributed by: Ashanta SamuelHi Leannette,
Your best bet is to contact any families you already know with young kids. Another option is to create a flyer and hand it to neighborhood families, your parents co-workers, or other community organizations and churches. Whatever you do, make sure you always run it by your parents first.
Good luck!
-- Contributed by: Debbie Vaseni need a babysitter job i live in middletown, new york and i need money
-- Contributed by: leannetteHi Breona,
I'd recommend you begin by taking the Red Cross babysitting course. This could give you an edge over the competition. Then you could make fliers on your computer and pass them out to families in your own neighborhood. Your parents could probably help you.
As for what to charge, it really depends on the going rate where you live, but you could make as much as $3.00 to $5.00 an hour with that course under your belt. If that doesn't sound like as much as you had hoped for, consider yourself lucky. In my teen babysitting days, we were only paid $1.00 an hour and whatever food we wanted to eat!
