Meg,
Unfortunately, this dress is just a picture and was not taken out of sales catalog or online store. Have you tried searching online for a dress like this one? For modest dresses like this one, check out this site: Latter Day Bride.

-- Contributed by: MegGo to ModestProm.com and look at the "Buying a Dress" section. There are lots of lovely modest modern gowns out there.

Perhaps a local dress maker/tailor can help you, or maybe your girlfriend or her mother can sew a dress that you can both agree on. In this day and age a woman wants to feel feminine too. Wearing a sack that has no shape whatsoever to a formal party won't make her feel very special or comfortable with her peers. Hopefully, you both share the same religious convictions about clothing and you will find a common ground.

I'm helping her look and so far I must have looked online at about 2000 or so dresses. I've been to so many web sites where people say that their mission is to be modest but their dresses speak otherwise, and the ones that actually have modest stuff, are in no way, shape, or form fashionable. I'm sick and tired of this. Can there be a site where the girls are dressed from below the knee to the collar bone, with 1/2 arm sleeves and can it at least look good but not be to tight? can it be fashionable? True modesty doesn't come from some book some old guy nobody's ever heard of, it isn't hardly mentioned in the Bible either, but it's something that instinct tells us since we were little that's right. It's something we feel deep within us and we like it when it happens. When we're clothed, we feel safe. It doesn't mean we can't be handsome or beautiful, it just means that we aren't bending other's vision to ourself by showing off our bodies or dressing them off glamorously. And no matter what the times say and high fashion says, we aren't to wear tight things because those show off the figure which do our best to keep sacred for our future spouse and out of respect to God. So I'm torn. Is there a dress for my girlfriend out there that keeps the ancient modesty we all feel yet holds fashionable to the new age of humanity? If there is, I haven't found it yet.
